5 rooms sleep 28 comfortably, fully equipped kitchen, spacious lounge with bi folding doors that bring the Kahurangi National Park into your space, bedrooms with views, lovely hot showers, large verandas with comfy couches and an ample lawn for tents.



The Kitchen at the Outpost is a large sunny area and is fully equipped for most group occasions.  2 fridges, 2 sinks, electric oven, 4 electric hobs, 4 gas hobs, warming draw, microwave, camp oven.  All sizes of pots & pans, plates & cups, glass ware and cutlery.  A giant cooled larder allows space for your weekend food boxes and chilly bins.

The lounge at the Outpost is sunny, spacious and ready to transform into what ever your group needs it to be.  From dinning to dance floor, rearrange your holiday decor to suit your mood.

Large bi-folding doors bring the clean air of the Kahurangi National Park right into your lounge.

An efficient fireplace keeps the large room toasty, what ever the weather.

A purple clad Queen sized bad sits in the middle of a cosy, carpeted blue room.  The  window relects from the full length wood framed mirror. A sink, oil heater and side table sit either side of the bed.  Spring blossoms decorate the room.
The Piwakawaka sleeps 4 & includes a king futon, 2 bunks and a couch.  The perfect family room.  Native bush and wetland view.


Choose your Room

The cabin sleeps 2 with a comfortable queens sized bed, a sink, bedside table and heater.

Kotuku sleeps 9 including 1 double, 7 bunks.  Interior access to lounge.  Native bush view.

Ruru sleeps 8 including 1 fixed double and 6 bunks, interior access to lounge, exterior access to the bush. Native bush view.

Kereru sleeps 5 including a double bed and 3 bunks.  A sunny room that looks out over both the wetland and the National Park.

Piwakawaka sleeps 4 and includes a king futon, 2 bunks and a couch.  The perfect family room.   Native bush and wetland view.

You bring your own sleeping bags/duvets unless otherwise arranged.  We provide you with underlays, sheet, pillow and pillow case.



No kiwi holiday is complete without a BBQ or picnic tables. Play a little outdoor chess while you cook for the whanau or curl up around the brasier in the evening.



A well stocked, efficient wood fire burns in the lounge in season.   A driftwood fed braiser is available for use for the outdoors when there is no fire ban in place.

Bathroom & Laundry

The bathroom includes 2 powerful gas operated showers, 2 hand basins, tub and a washing machine.

Clothes line / pegs.

Your grey water drains back into our gardens so please use eco friendly soaps and shampoos.

Toilet Access

Our eco friendly facility includes 3 healthy unisex composting toilet cubical's.  

NB: The access to the toilets is up a flight of stairs.
